Special Feature: Tent Trailers!

When we talk about camping, everyone pictures something wildly different. Some people sleep exclusively in a tent or under the stars, while others park their fifth wheels on a seasonal campsite or even sleep in a cabin. Some campers, like myself, are happy anywhere as long as there’s a lake nearby!
Even here at ArrKann, we don’t all have the same idea of what camping should look like. Some of us leave right from work every Friday and go straight to the lake, and some of us are more than happy getting out a few weekends each year to connect.
Despite our preferences, we can all agree that tent trailers might just be the most underrated method of camping. Accommodating for couples and families that want to experience the best campsites Alberta has to offer while keeping dry, warm and off the ground. Tent trailers are a great alternative to travel trailers and fifth wheels, but a significant upgrade from sleeping in a tent (unless that’s totally your thing!)
Tent trailers are a terrific fit for a first-time RVer. You can learn how to operate a bag awning, operate and maintain jacks, practice towing an RV for the first time, and so much more. You’ll know what you consider essential when camping- maybe you need a bag awning to escape the sun or an indoor toilet for convenience. You can have both of these things and more in a tent trailer without being overwhelmed as a first-time RV owner.
Setting up and taking down tent trailers doesn’t have to be a daunting task either; believe it or not, some units can be set up in less than 60 seconds!

The popularity of tent trailers is also credited mainly to the fact that they’re much lighter than other towable options. You don’t have to commit to purchasing a new truck to tow your trailer since tent trailers are lightweight enough to be pulled by an SUV. Fortunately, you do not have to compromise on space. Some tent trailers have just as much interior space as a travel trailer!
