Arrkann Teams up with Make A Wish Northern Alberta
Published on Jul 10, 2015You probably wish for things every day. Some are small and some big; some important and some not so important. Wishes tend to make us try a little harder, fight a little longer and go a little farther. For many, when a wish comes true, it can mark a turning point. Wishes matter, and can make a huge difference. Make-A-Wish® grants the wishes of children (ages 3-17) diagnosed with a life threatening medical condition. Every wish experience is driven by the wish of that special kid’s interests, creativity and personality.
Make-A-Wish® grants a wish every 21 minutes. These wishes change the lives of kids all across the world. Since starting in 1980, Make-A-Wish® has granted more than 350,000 wishes in 50 countries. Currently there are more than 27,000 active volunteers. More than 25,000 wishes were granted globally by Make-A-Wish® in 2014.
On June 27th at 1:00pm at Calaway Park, the ArrKann family was lucky enough to be apart of making a wish come true. We were able to celebrate Taras’ most heartfelt wish alongside him.
When we asked Taras if he could wish for anything, he told us he would love to have a tent trailer. We asked why he made that wish, and he said that he wished for a tent trailer because during the summer he loves to spend time outside. He enjoys camping and fishing, especially with his family, and is so excited for his wish to be granted. He received a quad for his last birthday and is looking forward to bringing it with him when he goes on adventures in his new tent trailer!
Taras and his family received his new tent trailer at Calaway Park, which is Western Canada’s largest amusement park for those of you who don’t know. Calaway Park was gracious enough to give Taras’ family free family park passes and passes to stay on the camping ground. That sounds like the best possible way to break in a new tent trailer! There is nothing more important than spending time with your family and camping is a great way to do that without distractions.
Tarzan Dan from 101.5 Kool FM was nice enough to stop by and interview one of our Sales Managers, Neil Friedenberg, at Calaway Park. Listen to the short audio clip below.
Arrkann has been working with the Make-A-Wish foundation for over 5 years now, and this is something that we will continue to do in the future. We have been fortunate enough to make other wishes come true in that time, but we know that what we do isn’t enough. There are a lot of other kids out there who have made a wish that has yet to come true. The good news is, there are a lot of ways that anyone can help.
For more information on how you can help grant the wish and help inspire others to do the same, visit the Make-A-Wish website. What a pleasure and honour it has been. Thank you to Taras and his family for letting us be apart of your wish. Now go have some fun!
